Explore the outcomes of various projects connected to ASTER. The results are derived from Patchify, E-Com Ready, Parcel Locker Policy, and a panel discussion encompassing projects, all funded through Vinnova's 2023 call for climate-neutral e-commerce. By listening, learning, and contemplating, you can delve into how to make meaningful use of these results.

Patchify

A concept aimed at simplifying the recycling of returned garments within e-commerce, garments that are currently often discarded or thrown away.

With this pilot, Patchify, we have, together with an e-retailer, determined that it is possible to turn this idea into a commercial venture. We have calculated the environmental benefits, etc. We have also found that by not constantly needing new goods, it is possible to reduce the capital burden for brand owners.

E-Com Ready

E-com Ready has developed a draft for an annex to the agreement for deliveries to an e-commerce warehouse. The aim is to enhance the efficiency of e-commerce, reduce overall resource consumption, and contribute to a more sustainable commerce.

We have measured the situation both before and after testing E-Com Ready, and what we can say is that material usage decreased by half, and this is on the supplier side. Furthermore, costs decreased by up to 97%, and carbon emissions decreased by as much as 77%, largely due to the reduced packaging volume.

Parcel Locker Policy

Compared to other EU-countries, Sweden is a bit of an odd ball when it comes to e-commerce deliveries. High amounts of deliveries to pick-up points and few home deliveries makes us stand out in comparison to countries such as Germany and England - with around every other package being delivered home. However, the Swedish market is shifting.

The Parcel Locker Policy project, funded by ASTER, has explored how policy can affect the development of policy lockers. Yulia’s presentation gives a great deep dive into the development of parcel lockers in Sweden
